Current State Record  Big Eye Tuna.  It weighed in at 228 pounds.  We caught the fish on a live bait at C Buoy in November of 1996.  A Big Eye tuna is not as common to catch as the Ahi tuna. Big Eyes usually live in a lot deeper water.  The way you can tell the difference is Ahi have long streamer fins that can run to their tail.  Big Eye streamer fins our short.  Like in picture.
